There were no vacant seats in the house April 14th as the GVBLN hosted Getting Your Client Hired: Tips from the Decision Makers, an Information Session aimed at Service Providers who work closely with the GVBLN. Utilizing the Vicki Gabereau set at the CTV Vancouver television studios, attendees were treated to presentations by representatives from TD Canada Trust, American Airlines and Canada Safeway.
The event brought to light innovative hiring and marketing ideas and proved to be very interactive. Topics discussed included making a good first impression with an employer, passing a pre-screen interview and addressing gaps in work experience. Best of all, it offered an open forum for service providers and employers to exchange ideas. Many excellent points were tabled by both the presenters and the attendees.
The event was followed by a tour of the brand new CTV Newsroom. The GVBLN wishes to thank CTV for hosting the event, Canada Safeway for catering and TD Canada Trust for sponsoring ASL interpretation services. AND, we appreciate all the service providers who attended and made the event so worthwhile. |
